Sometimes management hires the wrong person for the job, and often that person is blamed when things go badly. Megyn Kelly is just a recent example, and I have a few examples myself, covered in my book, “Don’t Pat Me On The Head”.

If you hired a square peg for a round hole, own it. Either support them so they can succeed or let them leave quietly, but don’t blame THEM for your bad decision.
