#427 Which approaches actually WORK to solve the homeless problem?

In this eye-opening episode, I sat down with a man who doesn’t just talk about homelessness — he fixes it. My guest, Dr. Dave Marlon, is an expert with boots on the ground, working daily to pull people out of despair and prevent the crisis from exploding in Las Vegas. Together, we cut through the hand-wringing and political posturing to talk about practical, proven strategies for helping the homeless and keeping more people from ending up on the streets. No sugarcoating, no empty promises — just real talk about real solutions.

#421 A 900 bed homeless shelter for the middle of Vegas???

The “Campus for Hope”, a proposed 900 bed homeless shelter, is a disaster for an established Las Vegas neighborhood and the schools and businesses that surround it, not to mention the quality of life and the hit property values will undoubtedly take. Community activist Lisa Mayo-DeReriso joined me to discuss what THEY (the politicians) are trying to do and what YOU can do to stop it.

Heidi Harris Show Podcast #187: Vegas Pastors planing a homeless protest?

Some local Pastors are planning a January protest in Downtown Las Vegas about the new regulations on homeless people who have been taking over private property around Downtown Vegas. Since when is GOVERNMENT supposed to care for them? When did Jesus call on public officials to care for these people? If every church in Vegas took in a few homeless, this “problem” would be SOLVED.

Heidi Harris Show Podcast #91: What WOULD help the homeless?

Is homelessness getting worse, or are the people who prefer to live on the streets just getting more bold? David Robeck, behavioral health professional and author of “Will Work For; The Untold Stories of the Homeless” talks about the wrong approaches to fixing the problem of homelessness, and some that might actually work.
